Harrison Soil and Water Conservation District, Solar Water Pumping System, $16,198, Belmont, Carroll, Guernsey, Harrison and Tuscarawas Counties, Audience: Regulated Community, #03G-037. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
Demonstration project introduced a solar-powered pump watering system to move water from a stream or pond to a nearby tank, as a method to prevent livestock from degrading streams and streambanks when they go to drink. The system was demonstrated at 3 field days, 4 fairs and 6 field trials reaching approximately 5000 people in the five-county area. Several other soil and water conservation districts in the region collaborated on the project, along with OSU Extension, the US Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, Stillwater Creek Interest Group and Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District.
