In 2017, Ohio EPA launched the Ohio Materials Marketplace (OMM), a free online service where Ohio businesses, not-for-profits and government organizations can advertise and acquire useful products and materials that may be destined for a landfill.

Ohio EPA recognized YSI, Inc., in Yellow Springs in September 2018 with a Platinum Level award for its sustainability initiatives, conservation and efficiency programs, and water quality education efforts. YSI manufactures sampling and monitoring instruments for environmental and in-process monitoring, including equipment widely used to track water quality conditions and trends.
The Ohio Materials Marketplace has migrated to a new dynamic platform. The new marketplace features an improved communication tool and is mobile-friendly to ease the creation of new material posts and speed material searches.
On April 17, 2019, Ohio EPA held its second Sustainability Conference in Columbus. Two hundred business and community representatives attended. The event provided opportunities to learn ways to become a part of the sustainability movement.

Using the Recycling and Litter Prevention (R&LP) scrap tire grant from Ohio EPA’s DEFA, along with matching funds from Jackson Center Schools (JCS), a ground tire rubber (GTR) paving project created a new running track and walking paths connecting athletic facilities and a community park.
In Jan. 2019, Governor Mike DeWine appointed Laurie A. Stevenson as director of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.
