As a precautionary response to COVID-19, Ohio EPA is currently operating with most staff working remotely. After March 23, our district offices and Central Office will be temporarily closed and will have increasingly limited ability to receive deliveries, plans, etc. All entities are encouraged to submit plans, permit applications, etc., electronically where there are existing avenues to do so, such as the eBusiness Center (eBiz). Please refer to the list of available services on the main eBiz webpage. We encourage you to make use of all that apply, even if you have not used eBiz in the past. Plans under 25 MB can be emailed. For large plans over 25 MB, entities should work with the reviewer/division to upload via LiquidFiles. Directions for submitting docs via LiquidFiles is available on YouTube. OMM Adds Chat

Launched last spring, the Ohio Materials Marketplace (OMM) is a free online platform to help businesses find recycling opportunities for their waste and by-products. Currently, OMM has more than 650 members. 

To help facilitate transactions, OMM recently added an  internal chat feature. The chat feature allows members, and the marketplace technical staff, to invite additional experts and/or service providers to join the discussion during the transaction. For example, members lacking transportation could invite a transporter to enter the chat to assist with moving materials between the supplier and the recipient.

OMM automatically sends an email notification to the invited party when a new conversation is requested, and each time a member adds information to an ongoing chat. This means that members no longer must log in periodically to see if they are making progress on the transaction.

With these improvements, the number of new conversations has increased and the frequency of responses to chat invitations has improved.
