Record Number of Nominations Received for WSRLA Program Year 2020

  • This year, Ohio EPA received a record number of nominations for the Water Supply Revolving Loan Account (WSRLA) – more than 180 projects and more than $400 million for upcoming program year (PY) 2020. This reflects the growing popularity of the WSRLA and the continued, widespread need for drinking water infrastructure improvements. During calendar year 2018, the WSRLA loaned out an all-time-high of more than $233 million in funds for drinking water improvement projects.

Public Water Systems Asset Management

  • In Ohio, around 4,800 public water systems (PWS) serve approximately 11 million people daily. PWS are regulated by Ohio EPA’s Division of Drinking and Ground Waters (DDAGW) and are required to monitor their water regularly for contaminants. When a system doesn't meet a standard, consumers are notified.

Record Year for Drinking Water Assistance

  • 2018 was a record year for financial assistance from the Water Supply Revolving Loan Account (WSRLA). The $233 million awarded during the calendar year is the largest annual amount in the program to date.

America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018 Strengthens the Nation’s State Revolving Funds

  • On Oct. 23, 2018, the President signed the America’s Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA) of 2018, containing provisions strengthening both the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) and the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF).
