Environmental Regulators To Host Public Meeting Regarding Clean Water Limited

A group of environmental regulators including Ohio EPA, the Regional Air Pollution Control Agency and Public Health – Dayton & Montgomery County’s Environmental Health Divison, will host a public meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, to offer area residents an opportunity to discuss the Drexel-based Clean Water Limited facility. The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Jefferson Township Hall, One Business Park Drive, Dayton.

Members of the community have expressed a desire to speak with representatives of the various agencies that regulate Drexel-based Clean Water Limited and its divisions. The company is subject to a number of local and state environmental requirements and this open house is an opportunity for regulators and the local community to discuss issues in their neighborhood.

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency was created in 1972 to consolidate efforts to protect and improve air quality, water quality and waste management in Ohio. In the past 40 years, air pollutants dropped by as much as 90 percent; large rivers meeting standards improved from 21 percent to 89 percent; and hundreds of polluting, open dumps were replaced with engineered landfills and an increased emphasis on waste reduction and recycling. Ohio EPA….40 years and moving forward.
