After March 23, our district offices and Central Office will be temporarily closed and will have increasingly limited ability to receive deliveries, plans, etc. All entities are encouraged to submit plans, permit applications, etc., electronically where there are existing avenues to do so, such as the eBusiness Center (eBiz). Please refer to the list of available services on the main eBiz webpage. We encourage you to make use of all that apply, even if you have not used eBiz in the past. Plans under 25 MB can be emailed. For large plans over 25 MB, entities should work with the reviewer/division to upload via LiquidFiles. Directions for submitting docs via LiquidFiles is available on YouTube. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you in advance for your understanding. If you wish to send hard copies of documents to any of Ohio EPA’s district offices, the best method to ensure we receive these documents is to send them via U.S. Mail. Since all offices are closed, deliveries outside of U.S. Mail (FedEx, UPS) will likely be returned because the offices are closed and deliveries cannot be made.

Ohio EPA Considers Allowing General Permits for Compressor Stations; Opens Pre-Comment Period for Interested Parties
Requesting feedback from interested parties, Ohio EPA today announced a “pre-comment period” related to the Agency’s drafts of general permits for oil and natural gas mid-stream compressor stations. Currently, air emissions at these facilities are subject to more lengthy case-by-case permits. By contrast, applications for general permits follow a template and can be issued for common pieces of equipment that (as a result of specific engineering and conditions) have more predictable emissions characteristics.

Donzell Moore of Toledo was sentenced today in Lucas County Court of Common Pleas after pleading guilty in June to two charges related to asbestos removal and disposal during demolition of the former Champion Spark Plug facility on Upton Avenue in Toledo.

Heritage Thermal Services, a commercial hazardous waste incinerator facility in East Liverpool, has agreed to resolve air and hazardous waste violations at its facility, which stemmed from a July 13, 2013, ash release into a nearby neighborhood.

Ohio EPA Holds Three Hearings About Ohio’s Plan to Meet the Latest Federal Sulfur Dioxide Standard
Ohio EPA is holding three hearings concerning the State Implementation Plan (SIP) to address nonattainment areas for the 2010 one-hour sulfur dioxide (SO2) air quality standard. U.S. EPA requires Ohio EPA to develop plans to demonstrate how Ohio will meet the standard by October 4, 2018.

Ohio EPA will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. on Dec. 4, 2014, regarding draft air and wastewater discharge permits for the proposed modification of the Rolling Hills Generating Plant, 43111 Route 160 at Route 689, Wilkesville (Vinton County). Ohio EPA Director Tours Anomatic at New Albany Beauty Park; Latest Permit Allows New Anodizing Lines, 60 More Jobs
Ohio EPA Director Craig W. Butler today toured Anomatic’s Innovation Design Center and state-of-the-art manufacturing plant at 8880 Innovation Campus Ct. in the New Albany Beauty Park. The latest air permit from Ohio EPA enables the expanding company to add two aluminum anodizing lines and hire 60 more people at the plant this year.

Ohio EPA Seeks Comments on Proposed Particulate Nonattainment Areas
