Ohio Celebrates Drinking Water and Water Pollution Control Program ARRA Achievements

Ohio EPA appreciates your interest in covering the drinking water and water pollution control projects that received funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). To facilitate your reporting, we have created this online media kit. If you need more information or would like to schedule an interview to speak with a staff member about the project, please contact Linda Fee Oros by e-mail or phone at (614) 644-2160.

Background

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, also known as the federal stimulus bill, was signed into law on February 17, 2009. The law provides for additional funding for drinking water and water pollution control infrastructure projects and the National Clean Diesel Campaign in Ohio.

Ohio leads the nation with 274 water pollution control projects. Additionally, Ohio ranks third with 62 drinking water projects funded when comparing all states issuing American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds. These stimulus funds are creating and retaining hundreds of jobs in Ohio.
