Division of Surface Water Water Quality Monitoring

Water Quality Monitoring

Why did Ohio EPA leave a postcard on my door?

The postcard just lets you know that Ohio EPA scientists are in the area collecting information about local streams.

All of the scientists will have a photo identification issued by the State of Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, and they will be driving vehicles with Ohio government license plates.

What stream is pictured on the front of the card?

The picture is of the Olentangy River, just south of the City of Delaware in central Ohio. The photo was taken near the Camp Lazarus scout camp, looking upstream.

Ohio EPA studied the Olentangy River in 2003 and 2004 and published its findings in 2005.
