Draft Available for Comment - Draft Supplement to Ohio’s State Implementation Plan (SIP) Request dated January 2, 2018 to Address Clean Air Act 110(l) Requirements
June 21, 2018: The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) is soliciting comments regarding a draft supplement to Ohio’s January 2, 2018 Ohio’s State Implementation Plan (SIP) submittal which requested U.S. EPA’s approval of changes in Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) rules 3745-31-01, 3745-31-03, 3745-31-05, 3745-31-06, 3745-31-11, 3745-31-13 and 3745-31-14. The draft supplement addresses the anti-backsliding requirements of Clean Air Act (CAA) Section 110(l) by demonstrating that the revisions to OAC Chapter 3745-31 are not a relaxation of existing requirements and have no impact on emissions or air quality, and therefore will not interfere with the attainment or maintenance of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).

Ohio EPA will be providing a public comment period on the draft supplement through July 25, 2018. A public hearing on this action may be requested by contacting Holly Kaloz at (614) 644-3632 or holly.kaloz@epa.ohio.gov no later than July 25, 2018. If a public hearing is requested, a new notification will be published to identify the time and location of the public hearing. The public hearing will be held at least 30 days after the date of the new notification. For information on how to submit comments or request a hearing please refer to the public notice (linked below).
