Division of Air Pollution Control Self Serve Kiosk

Self-Service Emissions Testing Kiosk

There is now a self-service OBD II testing kiosk available for public use at the Twinsburg E-Check station location.  The self-service kiosk can be used by most 1996 and newer passenger vehicles and light duty trucks to receive their initial test.  The inspection consists of three easy steps:

Step 1.  Scan your vehicle's VIN barcode, or enter it directly in the screen and verify or enter other vehicle information necessary.

Step 2.  Connect the Onboard Diagnostic (OBD) testing device to your vehicle's data port.

Step 3.  Collect your Vehicle Inspection Report showing your vehicle's information and the inspection results.  If your vehicle passes, you may proceed with your registration.  If your vehicle fails, you must return to a regular inspection lane during normal business hours for your re-inspection.

 The Self-Testing Station is open 24 hours a day 365 days a year !

The self-serve kiosk is located at our Twinsburg E-Check station location.  During normal E-Check station hours of operation there will be employees available for help with the testing process.  As mentioned above, the kiosk is only able to test 1996 and newer gasoline engine vehicles and 1997 and newer diesel engine vehicles.  1995 and older vehicles (1996 and older diesels) must be tested using the "tailpipe" test because they are not equipped with OBD II technology.
