February 8, 2017 Ohio EPA to Hold Hearing to Update Central Ohio Tributaries Use Designations
Ohio EPA will hold a public hearing to accept comments regarding new or revised beneficial use designations for streams in in the Central Ohio tributaries drainage basin. Designations being proposed for updates are in Ohio’s eastern counties and drain to the Ohio River.
February 8, 2017 State of Ohio Releases Framework to Reduce Nutrients in Lake Erie Basin
The State of Ohio has released the framework that is being used to reduce phosphorus entering Lake Erie under the Western Basin of Lake Erie Collaborative Agreement, which was signed in June 2015 by Ohio Lt. Governor Mary Taylor, Michigan and Ontario with a goal of reducing phosphorus loading to Lake Erie by 20 percent by 2020 and 40 percent by 2025.

Columbus drinking water customers will have a more reliable water system in the Shattuck Avenue area with help from a low-interest loan from Ohio EPA.
February 2, 2017 Ashville Receiving Financing from Ohio EPA for Wastewater Treatment Improvements
Ashville will improve water quality in Walnut Creek when the village constructs the sewer portion of its new wastewater treatment plant with help from a $1.064 million low-interest Ohio EPA loan. Together, the new sewers and treatment plant will help prevent the release of untreated wastewater into Walnut Creek. Past releases of untreated sewage have led to the stream being designated nonattainment for recreational uses.
February 2, 2017 Ohio EPA Holds Feb. 10 Hearing to Discuss Proposed Changes to Air Pollution Rules
Ohio EPA will hold a public hearing on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, regarding rule changes related to fine particulate matter (PM 2.5) which are small airborne particles. The rule update only applies to fine airborne particles in areas that do not already meet the PM 2.5 standard.
February 1, 2017 Ohio EPA Issues Water Quality Certification for Utopia Pipeline
Ohio EPA has issued a Water Quality Certification for the Kinder Morgan Utopia pipeline to be built in Harrison, Carroll, Tuscarawas, Stark, Wayne, Ashland, Richland, Huron, Seneca, Sandusky, Wood, Henry, Lucas and Fulton counties.
