Project Priorities Approved for the Water Pollution Control Loan Fund

The list of fundable projects for the Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF) has been finalized under the 2013 WPCLF Program Management Plan, a document that describes how Ohio EPA prioritizes projects, distributes funds and administers the WPCLF.

Those eligible to apply for and receive WPCLF loans include governmental entities, and in some cases, homeowners. To learn more about the projects that are being given priority for funding, you can access the WPCLF Program Management Plan on Ohio EPA’s website.

A draft plan was issued for public review Feb. 15, 2013, and a public meeting was held on March 18 to accept comments before finalizing the plan.  For more information about the program, please contact Becky McKinney.

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency was created in 1972 to consolidate efforts to protect and improve air quality, water quality and waste management in Ohio. In the past 40 years, air pollutants dropped by as much as 90 percent; large rivers meeting standards improved from 21 percent to 89 percent; and hundreds of polluting, open dumps were replaced with engineered landfills and an increased emphasis on waste reduction and recycling. Ohio EPA….40 years and moving forward.
